Clergy Assignments 2007

The Most Reverend Robert Harris, Bishop of Saint John, announces the following clergy assignments. Those priests who have been appointed pastors have been dispensed from the requirement of Canon 527 that they be placed into canonical possession of their parishes and will automatically become pastor on the dates indicated below. Several other appointments will be announced later in the summer.
Rev. Emery Brien, C.S.C., Pastor of Paroisse Sainte-Anne-des-Pays-Bas, Fredericton will be returning to ministry in the Archdiocese of Moncton, effective July 25, 2007.
Rev. John Keoughan, Chaplain of St. Thomas University, Fredericton, is granted a one year sabbatical for further study, effective August 15, 2007.
Rev. Ralph McRae, on sabbatical during the past year, is appointed Pastor of St. Rose of Lima Parish, Saint John, with its mission of St. Brendan`s, Dipper Harbour, effective August 15, 2007.
Rev. Keith Nielsen, on sabbatical during the past year, is appointed Chaplain of St. Thomas University, Fredericton, effective August 15, 2007.
Rev. Peter Osborne, Administrator of St. John the Baptist Parish, Saint John is also appointed Administrator of Stella Maris Parish, Saint John, effective August 15, 2007.
Rev. Paul Riley, Pastor of St. Stephen`s Parish, St. Stephen and Pastor of Holy Rosary Parish, St. Stephen is appointed Pastor of St. Ann`s Parish, Saint John and Pastor of St. Joachim`s Parish, Saint John, effective August 15, 2007.
Rev. Donald Savoie, Pastor of St. Ann`s Parish, Saint John and Pastor of St. Joachim`s Parish, Saint John is appointed Pastor of Paroisse Sainte-Anne-des-Pays-Bas, Fredericton, effective July 27, 2007.
Rev. William Weiss, Pastor of Stella Maris Parish, Saint John is appointed Pastor of St. Stephen`s Parish, St. Stephen and Pastor of Holy Rosary Parish, St. Stephen, effective August 15, 2007.

John and Paul Parish, New Maryland with its mission of St. Columba, Fredericton Junction is appointed Pastor of St. Joachim`s Parish, Boiestown with its mission of Our Lady of the Annunciation, Doaktown and Pastor of St. Raphael`s Parish, Blackville with its mission of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Howard, effective September 1, 2007.
Rev. John Beaumaster, Administrator of St. Peter`s Parish, Saint John with its mission of St. Bridget`s, Chapel Grove is appointed Pastor of St. Peter`s Parish, Saint John with its mission of St. Bridget`s, Chapel Grove, effective September 1, 2007.
Rev. Peter Aman Cobbina, Associate Pastor of St. Rose of Lima Parish, Saint John with its mission of St. Brendan`s, Dipper Harbour is appointed Administrator of Sts. Peter and Paul Parish, Bartibog Bridge with its mission of Holy Family, Barryville, effective September 1, 2007.
Rev. Mr. Robert Freill, Deacon of St. Ann`s Parish, Saint John and Deacon of St. Joachim`s Parish, Saint John is appointed Director for the Office for Ecumenism for the Diocese of Saint John and is appointed to provide diaconal ministry to the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, Saint John, effective September 1, 2007.
Rev. Leo Sullivan, Pastor of Sts. Peter and Paul Parish, Bartibog Bridge with its mission of Holy Family, Barryville is retiring effective September 1, 2007.
Rev.
