The Church is missionary by nature, called to share the Gospel of Jesus. The Holy Father calls us to, “a continuous and profound conversion of heart…attested by concrete and effective actions that involve everyone in the Church, so that personal sanctity and moral commitment can contribute to promoting the full credibility of the Gospel message and the effectiveness of the Church’s mission” (Pope Francis, Vos Estis Lux Mundi, 2019).
Our Responsible Ministry Protocol has been developed to assist clergy and faithful of the Diocese of Saint John in living out our call to be missionary disciples who, like Jesus, truly respect the dignity of each person. Its aim is to assist all levels of ministry in proclaiming the Gospel, and to protect the wellbeing of those to whom we minister.
